Structure
WCS is a digital consultancy that is interconnected, situated in various locations across the UK, and is comprised of a community of engineers, strategists, creatives, architects, and consultants.
Responsibility
Our directorship have the overall responsibility for this statement and is committed to ensuring that there is no slavery or human trafficking within our business or supply chain.
We have several policies in place that reflect our commitment to implementing and enforcing effective systems and controls to ensure that slavery and human trafficking do not occur. These include:
- Employee handbook (code of conduct)
- Whistleblowing policy
- Grievance policy
Supply Chain
A substantial part of our spending is dedicated to compensating our employees. The highest risk of slavery and human trafficking is found in our supply chain, which is relatively minor and restricted to a few specific services.
Our supply chain incorporates reputable businesses for items like computer hardware and software services, in addition to cleaning and maintenance consumables and services.
We maintain a strict zero-tolerance policy regarding modern slavery, which is communicated to all relevant suppliers, contractors, and business partners at the initiation of our business relationship and is reinforced as needed thereafter.
When onboarding new suppliers, contributions from various teams, including Legal, HR, and IT, are necessary. As a standard practice, all supplier contracts are examined by the legal team, which conducts due diligence on a supplier before they receive approval at the Director level. This procedure is followed to ensure that any potential risks are recognized before we engage in a contractual relationship with anyone in our supply chain.
Monitoring
In our ongoing initiative to ensure that modern slavery and human trafficking are absent from our supply chain, we intend to continue reviewing and monitoring our systems, policies, and procedures, and where appropriate, enhance them, in addition to improving our training and communications concerning the Modern Slavery Act throughout the business.
Declaration
This statement is made pursuant to section 54(1) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and constitutes WCS’ slavery and human trafficking statement for the financial year 2025. This statement was approved by the directors on 11th April 2025.
